You have probably observed the utility trenching at the southwestern corner of the Winsome development along Hodgen Road. This water utility is being extended by FAWWA (Falcon Area Water & Wastewater Authority) to their deep well water sites within the Winsome development. These deep well sites are not part of the Dawson Aquifer that Winsome residential parcels are allotted. The water rights to the deep aquifers were not part of the Winsome development and were sold by the original owners of the McCune Ranch separate from the Winsome residential development.
There are four future well sites located within the Winsome community (see attached map). The water utility line will follow easement areas that were created for access and minimal disturbance to common area parcels.
The drilling and construction of the first two wells is anticipated to begin in January 2026. The first wells are located adjacent to lot 1 in Filing 3 and Tract E in Filing 3, along Alamar Way. Sound walls will be constructed around the drilling sites during the well boring process. Overall it is estimated that the drilling will take 3-4 weeks per well site, and then 4-6 months to equip and complete the well construction. The goal of FAWWA is to be operational by early 2027.
